Be Prepared for Milestone Life Events

Life comes at you fast. Make sure you’re financially prepared to experience its sweetest moments.

Milestone events make for some of the most memorable moments in our lives. Whether it’s a significant birthday or anniversary, a marriage, a graduation, or a retirement, milestone events bring joy to individuals and their loved ones. However, important milestones like graduating college or retiring comfortably can carry a hefty price tag.

While the costs behind major milestones are on the rise, they’re still attainable with the proper preparation. From kids to seniors, and everyone in between, we offer the financial solutions to help make your dreams a reality, whatever your next milestone may be.

Checking and savings solutions

The best way to be financially prepared for the future is to start saving early. That’s why we offer Junior Savers Savings1 and Student Checking accounts for our younger customers looking to get a head start on their finances.

Junior Savers Savings accounts are for customers under age 22, and there is no minimum deposit required to open. Once the Junior Saver turns 22 there is a $200 daily minimum balance required to avoid a $5 monthly maintenance fee. Our Junior Savers Savings account and the Junior Savers Club®2 introduce kids to the principles of money and instill healthy savings habits. Junior Savers accounts can work in tandem with the financial milestones of adolescence, such as getting a first job and saving up for items such as a phone or car. Plus, account holders have access to free events, activities, sweepstakes, and giveaways year-round.

With our Student Checking account, students between the ages of 13 and 25 have the ability to manage their money from anywhere. Applicants under age 18 may be required to open an account jointly with a parent, legal guardian, or other adult. For these accounts, there’s no minimum opening deposit, no minimum monthly balance requirements, and no monthly maintenance fees. Other perks of our Student Checking accounts include five free nationwide ATM refunds for each statement cycle,3 mobile check depositing,4 and access to Zelle®5 to send money with friends, family, and others you trust.

Of course, our checking and savings solutions don’t end there. Wintrust Community Banks offer a variety of accounts that work for every wealth level and stage of life. Our most popular accounts are our Total Access Checking and Statement Savings6 accounts 一 two tried-and-true solutions for preparing for every milestone that lies ahead.

Total Access Checking is the right account for any stage of your financial journey. The account has a required minimum opening deposit of $100, but there are no monthly balance or monthly maintenance fees. Plus, account holders get free ATM access nationwide,7 customizable debit card controls, remote deposit services,4 E-statements, Zelle® access, and more.

Our Statement Savings account provides the perfect savings platform to meet the needs of any life event. Statement Savings accounts have variable interest rates, with interest paid monthly. There’s no minimum deposit required to open a Statement Savings account, but there’s a minimum daily balance requirement of $200 to avoid a $5 monthly maintenance fee. Statement Savings account holders enjoy many of the same perks that come with our other savings accounts, including card controls (with a linked debit card) and seamless mobile banking features, among others.

Aside from Total Access Checking, we have multiple checking account options designed to suit the various individual needs of our customers. In addition to Statement Savings, we have money market accounts and Certificates of Deposit (CD) 一 two ideal saving options for growing your wealth over time.

Credit building solutions

When it comes to financing major milestones, utilizing credit can be a solid solution. This approach only works when your credit is strong, which is precisely where we come in. Our teams specialize in credit building and repair to get you where you want to be when you need to be there.

For those looking to build their credit, our credit cards8 are designed to help you do so, regardless of your starting point. Our online account access makes credit building a breeze, providing an easy way to make payments, transfer balances, view statements, and request credit limit increases.

Our carefully designed lending solutions are a better way to borrow with options including fixed-rate and varying size and payoff length. Even if you believe the amount you have in mind is too small, or don’t want to take on a lengthy payment schedule, one of our services may fit your need.

Mortgage solutions

Buying a home is one of life’s biggest milestones, but it can also be one of the most expensive. With the help of our mortgage program, aspiring homeowners are supplied with the support they need to move into their forever home. We are here to assist you with purchasing a home, refinancing a home, investing in properties, accessing Veterans Administration loans, finding affordable housing, and much more.

Planning for the future

No matter your age or net worth, you can feel confident in planning for the future thanks to our wealth management programs. Our financial experts partner with you to plan for retirement, manage investments, insure your family, and anything else your goals entail.

Thanks to our unique company structure, we are able to offer MaxSafe® accounts — one-of-a-kind accounts that offer unparalleled protection. While the maximum amount of FDIC coverage is typically $250,000, MaxSafe provides coverage up to $3.75 million per accountholder.9 We offer MaxSafe fixed-rate CDs, money market, checking, and IRA accounts. MaxSafe simplifies the tax process, too — requiring just one 1099 tax form per account.

Wherever you are in your financial journey, take comfort in the fact that your bank is here to provide the tools and guidance you need to succeed. Your milestones are important to us, and our solutions will ensure that you’re prepared for each and every one at any point in your life.
